Appeals Committee
The role of this committee is to consider appeals against a decision made by a relevant committee e.g. credentials or examination.
An initial response may be to decide that there is a prima facie case to answer and lead to a full appeal hearing. The appellant must put forward a case that evidences a failure to consider relevant mitigating circumstances that the committee may have been aware of at the time of the unfavourable decision.
These include:
- defective procedure
- failure to take account of known medical or adverse personal circumstances.
