Letter from the ELADIS Board

Dear Members of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging,

The European Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging Society (ELADIS) was created during the EVDI annual meeting 2010 in Giessen. The objectives of ELADIS are directed towards the promotion and development of knowledge on large animal diagnostic imaging in veterinary medicine, research and education in Europe.

Large Animals Biased Imaging Track

The ECVDI started with the regular track examinations in 1996. This track included both small and large animals. Over the years, the examination has become more oriented towards small animals, as a reflection of the daily reality in the clinics for most members and for the examiners. However, the demand for large animal orientated radiologists has grown over the years. Some new associations (such as ISELP) helped to partially fill this demand while other existing ones (such as ECVS) had plans to start with an equine imaging curriculum. In 2008, the ECVDI Board decided to formally create a Large Animals (LA) biased imaging track.
