Dear ECVDI members,
At the last Annual General Meeting, 45 applications for the Associate Membership were submitted for vote. Twenty-five (25) candidates were voted in (by absolute majority according to Article 5.4 of the Constitution) by the voting members and were granted an Associate Membership for an initial period of five years.

This Associate membership was a one-time only opportunity and is now closed. According to the ECVDI Constitution, the Associates do not have the rights and privileges of Diplomates and shall be required to be pay dues. The dues have been fixed by the Board of the ECVDI at 150€/year.
These 25 Associate members will be authorised to run a Large Animal biased track residency, providing that their program application includes a Dip ECVDI director. The Regular/Small Animal biased track residents will be encouraged to follow the large animal portion of their training within their accredited centre or with one of these Associate Members.
These Associate Members will have to re-submit their credentials in September 2016 in view to retain their Associate Member status for an undetermined period of time. The credentials considered to retain their Associate Membership will include, but will not be limited to, supervising Large Animal or regular/Small Animal track ECVDI residents (mandatory), regular attendance to the EVDI meetings (min once / 3 year), CED contributions in the field of large animal imaging (preferably within ELADIS), membership to EAVDI and ELADIS, writing of publications with LA track residents, organising of labs/exam preparation sessions for ECVDI residents. They will also be given the opportunity to enrol to sit the Large Animals biased examination provided acceptance of their credentials by the Credentials Committee.
If deemed insufficient after five years, their Credentials will not be accepted and their Associate Membership will then be terminated.
Best regards,
Jimmy Saunders,
ECVDI President
