published between july 2011 and end of January 2012 are classified considering their main
subject (Equine versus Farm animal; MRI - CT - Nuclear medicine versus conventional imaging:
radiography - ultrasonography). A section “others” is also added where papers present
interesting diagnostic imaging findings.
In each issue, it was also decided to present some human references on a transversal topic.
In the first newsletter, the subject was the ultrasonographic evaluation of muscular sportsrelated
injuries. The subject of this second newsletter is the ultrasound elastography of the
human locomotor system for going further in the new trends of locomotor ultrasonography.
This second newsletter gives also the opportunity for the board members to announce the
ELADIS travel awards for the IVRA-EVDI Congress 2012 in Bursa (Turkey). These awards are
available to non-diplomate ELADIS members in order to help finance attendance at the Annual
EVDI Conference. Preference is given to those who are in a veterinary radiology training
program (applicants do not need to be ECVDI residents) and who are presenting a paper or
poster on large animal imaging at the meeting. Applications need to be accompanied by a
copy of the submitted abstract and can be sent before knowing if the abstract has been accepted.
The award can only be given once to the same person. The number and size of the
awards for this year was agreed at the last AGM in London, there will be 2 awards of 500
Euros each. In cases where more than one applicant are in the same circumstances other
decisive factors that may be used by the Board are the candidate's financial circumstances,
reasons for applying, year of training, number of abstracts submitted, quality of the information
provided and whether a presentation or a poster is presented.
Please complete the application form presented page 10 of this newsletter and return it to
faudigie@vet-alfort.fr together with a copy of the submitted abstract/s and a letter explaining
briefly your reasons for applying for this award. Closing date for receipt of the forms is
June1st 2012.
