Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre currently undergoing extensive expansion and improvement of the facilities. The practice is located in the South of England close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Bournemouth beach has just been voted number one beach in the UK by Tripadvisor and is a 20-minute drive from the practice. The area offers good access to regional and international airports and has excellent road and rail links to London.
Imaging facilities include a 64 slice Siemens CT scanner with cardiac software, 1.5T Hallmarq PetVet MRI (to be replaced with a new 1.5T scanner within the next 2 years), Samsung RS80, GE Logiq 9, Vivid iq and Vivid E95 ultrasound machines, Canon direct digital radiography and Philips C-arm digital fluoroscopy.
You will work alongside two ECVDI diplomates, an ECVDI board eligible radiologist, an ECVDI resident and a radiographer and will work closely with diplomates or residents in training in Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Anaesthesia and Dermatology.
In addition to a four day working week and six weeks annual leave (plus bank holidays and birthday), we offer an excellent salary package with 5% matched employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, sick pay, income protection cover and professional and association fees paid.
The practice actively encourages both the giving and receiving of CPD to further the education of their employees with an allowance of up to £5000 and three weeks to achieve this.
Applicants should be board eligible or Diplomates of the ECVDI or ACVR and should be members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Full time or part time applicants will be considered.
