Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging



The School of Veterinary Science at The University of Queensland invites applications for a clinical-track academic position in diagnostic imaging. The person will join an evolving diagnostic imaging team including a board-certified radiologist, a board-eligible radiologist and a diagnostic imaging resident, supported by a radiographer and a nurse. The University of Queensland's Veterinary Medical Centre, consisting of Small Animal and Equine Hospitals, has a solid, diverse clinical caseload and an exceptional multi-disciplinary team of clinical specialists and educators. The comprehensive diagnostic imaging service has modern, advanced facilities and equipment, including: Philips EPIQ 5, Philips IU33, GE vivid 7, and Esaote MyLab 30 ultrasound units, Fuji CR system and PACS, Radincon DR system, Toshiba 16-slice mulidetector CT with large animal table and pressure injector, nuclear medicine suite, and plans for in-house MRI capability for small animals and horses. Potential exists for unique collaborative research opportunities with The University of Queensland's Centre for Advanced Imaging at the St Lucia campus (http://www.cai.uq.edu.au).

The role: The position will promote and develop expertise in diagnostic imaging for companion animals, horses, and avian/exotic species. The successful applicant will actively contribute to the clinical and didactic teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students, residents and interns. A contribution to clinically focused research and/or innovation in clinical practice, as well as a key role in engagement with the veterinary profession, is expected.

The person: Applicants should possess a BVSc (or equivalent) that is registrable in Queensland, together with specialty board certification (ACVR, ECVDI, or FANZCVS) in diagnostic imaging. Board-eligible candidates (recently completed or in the process of completing an accredited residency training program) are also encouraged to apply. Additionally, possession of a Research Higher Degree (e.g. MPhil, PhD) will be advantageous.

Remuneration: This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic Level B/C depending on qualification and experience. The base remuneration package will be in the range:

Level B: AUD$89,458 - $106,232 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be AUD$104,666 - $124,291 p.a.). 

Level C: AUD$109,586 - $126,360 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$128,216 - $147,841 p.a.).
