Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging (equivalent to Assistant/Associate Professor), The Department of Companion Animal Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Norwegian University of Life Sciences

On 1 January 2014, the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science and the University of Life Sciences merged and became – NMBU, the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. NMBU has 1700 employees and 5200 students, and is currently located on two campuses – Ås, about 30 km south of Oslo, and Adamstuen in Oslo. In 2019, the new Faculty of Veterinary Medicine building is completed at Campus Ås and the entire NMBU will then be located at Ås.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine seeks a radiologist for a full time permanent position.

The successful applicant will work alongside two ECVDI/ACVR diplomates, two ECVDI residents, three highly experienced radiographer and two very competent imaging nurses – all of them maintaining a high quality clinical service for both small –and large animal patients.

Imaging facilities currently include DR, CT, ultrasound and scintigraphy. However, state-of-the-art equipment regarding all modalities is in the process of being purchased and will be installed in the new veterinary hospital which is currently under construction at Ås south of Oslo.

Applicants must have a DVM degree and qualify for Norwegian authorization.

Applicants who are ECVDI or ACVR board certified or eligible are desirable.

Fluent communication in English is mandatory.

The position is at present limited to normal working hours without any out-of-hours commitments at present. 

Academic staff who are employed without having a formal pedagogical qualification in university level teaching, and are unable to document equivalent qualifications, are required to complete a course that gives such pedagogical qualifications within two years of taking up appointment. The University offers such courses.
