Radiologist
Dick White Referrals, Newmarket, UK

If you fancy working with a large team of very experienced fellow radiologists in the largest multidisciplinary private referral centre in Europe, look no further! Whether you are already experienced and want an intellectually stimulating environment where you can exchange ideas with fellow specialists, supervise residents and strive on challenging cases, or whether you are recently boarded and are looking for a supportive environment into which you can gradually flourish and build experience, or simply if you are sick of looking at your 4 walls of your teleradiology office, this is the place for you!

The diagnostic imaging department is looking for yet another small animal radiologist due to further expansion of the hospital. The successful candidate will be full-time (4.5d/week), though part-time applications will also be considered. This person will join a very strong team of already 7 board-certified radiologists, 3 small animal track residents, 2 diagnostic imaging interns and 4 radiographers. This position is open as per today and will remain open until successfully filled.

Together with anaesthesia, clinical pathology and anatomical pathology, the imaging department is providing support to the following specialties: cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, medical oncology, radio-oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, bringing the total of board-certified specialists to 39, the total number of vets to 76 and the total head count to over 260. On-site imaging modalities include: C-arm, 0.4T MRI, 16-slice CT with dual pressure injector, DR x-ray suite, mobile DR unit, 2 high-end and one portable ultrasound machine.

A new wing of the hospital will be opened in 2019 and will include a centralised imaging wing, bringing all modalities and a dedicated imaging reading room together. MRI will then be replaced by a large-bore 32-channel 1.5T superconductive magnet and a 64-slice CT will follow the next year. The new wing of the hospital will also incorporate a multi-leaf intensity-modulated radiotherapy unit.

The offered salary is very competitive with other private referral hospitals across the country and the benefit package is unmatched, including generous pension contribution, private health insurance, off-clinics study time, CPD time and allowance, extra holidays on top of 33 standard days, accruing with years of service, birthday, moving house, or other important events in life such as child’s first day of school, child leaving the nest. On-call rota will be 1 weekend and 1 weekday in 8. On call time is compensated with extra time off.
