About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Diagnostic Imaging, the Senior Lecturer’s primary focus to contribute to the diagnostic imaging team in development, teaching and assessment of the veterinary science curriculum at the Sydney School of Veterinary Science (SSVS). This will include providing a high quality imaging service to clients of the University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals of the SSVS to generate learning opportunities for residents and veterinary students and supporting the other clinical services. To actively participate in Faculty’s clinical research programs and to provide excellent teaching to undergraduates and post-graduate veterinarians in resident programs. Delivery high standards of practice within the SSVS imaging team.

• A veterinary degree registrable in NSW
• Postgraduate qualification in the area of veterinary diagnostic imaging or eligibility for such a qualification
• Specialist qualification in veterinary diagnostic imaging, registrable in NSW
• Capacity and willingness to work across all species (small animals, wildlife, equids and livestock)

About us
The Sydney School of Veterinary Sciences delivers a high quality Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program as well as residencies and postgraduate degree programs in numerous disciplines of veterinary science. The University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals provide the clinical learning experience for DVM students, interns and residents engaged in professional training programs, as part of the provision of professional services to the community and profession. In this context, the person appointed to this position will be involved in the teaching of veterinary diagnostic imaging through class room instruction as well as in conjunction with the delivery of a clinical service in diagnostic imaging, including radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI and scintigraphy. The appointee will advance the knowledge in this speciality through research, supervision of post-graduate students and other scholarly activity.

The Imaging team operates across the SSVS University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals at Camperdown and Camden campuses. The successful candidate will contribute to the imaging team across both campuses including the opportunity to closely collaborate with equine specialists in internal medicine, surgery and sports medicine, as well as with small animal specialists in medicine, oncology, cardiology, emergency medicine and critical care, anaesthesia, as well as specialists in exotics and pathology.
