Rounds in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging

Rounds in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (RIVDI) aims to enhance ECVDI® resident training. In short, it’s designed to provide additional training in case interpretation and deliver an equal, and more uniform, preparation for the practical exam.

RIVDI is free to all ECVDI® residents and you will be included on all correspondence and session invites.

There are two aspects to RIVDI for residents:

WEB-BASED DISCUSSION:

Regular webinars led by instructors from different backgrounds including academia, private practice and teleradiology. Webinars will be co-ordinated by the college to ensure broad topic coverage and maximum benefit for residents.

RESIDENT BOARD PREPARATION IN-PERSON EVENT:

This event will be held as a mock board event run by the ECVDI® annually in November. The examination committee will provide guidance to ensure appropriate preparation. It will be an opportunity for the instructors to meet the residents, and for the residents to meet each other in person.

The 2025 Mock Board Practical Exam is scheduled for 8th & 9th November 2025 to be held in ParisThe RIVDI committee is offering this opportunity to any resident who has passed the Theoretical Exam regardless of whether they intend to sit the Practical Exam in January 2026.

RIVDI NEW RESIDENT WELCOME MEETING

Following the success of our new initiative for 2024, the RIVDI Committee is delighted to announce our second online Welcome meeting for ECVDI residents and this is scheduled for Wednesday 20th August 2025 from 15:00 to 19:00 (London time).

This is an opportunity for us to introduce our RIVDI training programme to all ECVDI residents, but is specifically targeted at those who are early in their residency programme.

We will introduce ECVDI and the RIVDI training programme and what it offers, plus provide technical tips; a list of useful journals & literature; a wellbeing session; a guest speaker; presentations from the credentials and residents committees; finishing with questions & answers. Coffee breaks will also give an opportunity for break out rooms to enable the residents to engage with other residents participating.

Please can we ask all Programme Managers to allow their first year residents to get on board to support this event and if you have any further questions please contact the RIVDI team at rivdi@ecvdi.eu .
