The Faculté de médecine vétérinaire (FMV) of the Université de Montréal, located in the Education District of the city of Saint-Hyacinthe (an agri-food technopole), is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Clinician Teacher position in Diagnostic Imaging. The selected candidate will work within the Centre hospitalier universitaire vétérinaire (CHUV) as part of a team that includes two (2) professors, one (1) clinician teacher (teaching assistant), one (1) resident, six (6) diagnostic imaging technicians and one (1) animal health technician. In addition, the selected candidate will collaborate with several specialists (anesthesiology, cardiology, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, zoological medicine, etc.) dedicated to providing the highest standard of veterinary care and will serve as an educational resource for future veterinarians.
The veterinary diagnostic imaging service performs more than 5,000 examinations annually, supported by a comprehensive technological platform that includes radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, CT, and MRI. Recent acquisitions include a Canon Aquilion One Prism CT scanner and a GE Artist Evo 1.5 T MRI, both integrating advanced artificial intelligence-based reconstruction techniques that enhance image quality and provide state‑of‑the‑art cross‑sectional imaging. Dynamic volume CT capabilities further strengthen an exceptional range of services available to CHUV patients.

As a Clinician Teacher, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine:
Through your clinical teaching (up to 90% of your duties), as well as through activities related to the visibility of your discipline, research activities, and institutional service (for a minimum of 10% of your duties). In this role, you will be expected to:
- Participate in clinical teaching of students, notably by providing care and services that meet the different needs of the clientele;
- Supervise veterinary students, interns, and residents;
- Assess student learning;
- Provide educational advice and assistance to students;
To be successful in the role, you must have:
- Hold a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree;
- Have completed a residency program in diagnostic imaging;
- Hold a diploma from the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or from the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) (candidates eligible to site the certification examinations of these colleges, as well as residents currently enrolled in the program, will also be considered);
- Hold or obtain a valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the province of Quebec (Canada) issued by the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec (OMVQ);
- An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy.
