The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ghent University offers a 1-year specialized internship in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging for Large Animals.

- Diploma of Veterinary Medicine recognized in Belgium
- Completion of a 1-year equine rotating intersnhip
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in diagnostic imaging who seek to enhance their knowledge base and technical skills.
The diagnostic imaging large animal hospital at Ghent University currently has one large animal DR room, ultrasound machines, a 320 slice CT scanner (for both small and large animals, including standing horses) and a low-field MRI scanner (for both small and large animals).
The role is to enhance and support our diagnostic imaging service, working closely with our team of three European Specialists in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, large animals, 2 ECDVI residents, large animal track, 1 radiographer, 1 rotating intern and the rotating veterinary medicine students. The successful candidate can expect supported training in the acquisition of all imaging modalities including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI, and can expect to take advantage of excellent opportunities to participate in imaging rounds and journal clubs and develop skills in image interpretation. You will have access to the Ugent online library including veterinary and medical journals.
You will also participate to the after-hours diagnostic imaging emergency cases.
A positive attitude, outstanding interpersonal and team-work skills are essential, along with a professional, proactive approach and a commitment to practicing the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care. Good spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of Dutch is not essential but would be advantageous to effectively communicate with students and referring veterinarians.
