Radiologist - Langford Vets, Bristol, UK
Radiologist
Langford Vets, Bristol, UK
Langford Vets are excited to recruit an additional radiologist to join our close-knit team, currently comprising three ECVDI Diplomates, three ECVDI small animal track residents and three radiographers. The small animal hospital at Langford is one of the busiest in the UK, housing the largest team of European, American and RCVS specialists and specialists-in- training in the south west, as well as serving as the clinical teaching centre for the veterinary and veterinary nursing students of the University of Bristol. Imaging facilities include 1.5T Phillips MRI, 16-slice Siemens CT (shortly to be replaced by a state-of-the-art 128 slice unit), two Siemens ultrasound machines, computed radiography suite, mobile digital radiography unit and two fluoroscopic units. The radiology team works in close partnership with the multidisciplinary hospital staff, and the wide and varied caseload affords unparalleled opportunity for clinical collaboration, where radiologists have a vital role in clinical case management.
The hospital is located at the rural Langford Campus, which is perched on the edge of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but just 30 minutes from the innovative and colourful City of Bristol. It is also within easy travelling distance of the National Parks and beaches of Wales and the South West, and just 5 miles from Bristol International Airport.
Candidates must hold an ECVDI or ACVR diploma or have completed an ECVDI or ACVR accredited residency. Beyond that the job can be tailored to the individual; full or part time, partial remote or flexible working are all negotiable. There is scope to incorporate the interests of the individual, whether that be clinical research, teaching, service optimisation, involvement in our developing interventional services or any combination of these. Langford Vets is committed to supporting the personal and professional development of its staff.
The appointee would be eligible for a range of company benefits, in addition to a generous pension scheme and CPD package. For pre-boarded applicants, full support in exam preparation will be offered; as a centre we have an excellent success rate in preparing our residents for EVCDI board exams.
Informal enquires should be directed to Alison Major, clinical lead for diagnostic imaging:
