Residency Training Programme in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging, starting date in Q4 2021 (or by agreement).

The training center (Medisch Centrum voor Dieren Amsterdam) is one of The Netherland’s largest small animal hospitals. The hospital is part of the AniCura group. The AniCura group consists of over 200 clinics in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Across AniCura, with many specialists working in different fields, sharing resources creates opportunities for better veterinary care and education.

The diagnostic imaging team of Medisch Centrum voor Dieren, consists of two specialists Diagnostic Imaging (Dip ECVDI), one ECVDI resident, one board eligible resident and four dedicated Imaging Nurses. The team provides imaging support for all the departments of the hospital.

This clinical training position is designed to prepare the successful candidate for the ECVDI small animal track board examinations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate from a veterinary school that has been approved by the European Association of Veterinary Education Establishments.
  • Applicants should have completed a minimum of one year in a clinical training programme (rotating internship) or veterinary primary practice equivalent of two years.
  • Satisfactory moral and ethical standing in the profession and in the community is a requirement.
  • The applicant must have a strong ambition to become a specialist in veterinary diagnostic imaging and is expected to complete the requirements and take the examinations for the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch and English is essential.

A good cooperation with direct colleagues, other departments within the clinics and the referring veterinarians is essential and we expect that the candidate is able to contribute to this in a positive manner.
