Equine diagnostic imaging internship starting in June 2026
This internship is designed for qualified veterinary graduates who wish to embark in future specialisation in equine diagnostic imaging. The programme lasts one year and is particularly attractive if you wish to pursue a three year imaging residency.
The internship is coupled with a post graduate diploma in Veterinary Clinical Practice (PGDipVCP) and the successful applicant will be automatically enrolled in the course
Residencies (small and large animal biased) starting in July 2026.
The objective of this training programme is to give the resident the skills, knowledge and completed credential requirements necessary to sit the examination of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (Large or Small Animal Track). Clinical training is based at the College’s referral hospitals at the Hawkshead Campus, near Potters Bar. Both the Equine Referral Hospital and the Queen Mother Hospital for Small Animals are modern and well‐equipped. As well as practical imaging acquisition and reporting, the programme includes regular imaging rounds, journal clubs, book clubs and an individual research programme. On call work is part of the clinical activity and is shared between the pool of residents. Collaboration in undergraduate teaching is part of the role.
The successful candidate is enrolled in the RVC MVetMed programme as well.
