As part of the opening of the Companion Animal Veterinary Teaching Hospital (CHEV) and to strengthen our Veterinary College, Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle is looking for a Veterinary Lecturer-Clinician in Diagnostic Imaging (M/F) on a permanent contract (CDI), based at our Mont-Saint-Aignan campus (Normandy, France). The position is available as soon as possible.

We are looking for a veterinary imaging specialist or an experienced veterinarian with a strong interest and proven clinical experience in diagnostic imaging.  An ECVDI qualification is an advantage but is not mandatory.

Reporting to the CHEV Medical Director, you will be responsible for the management of diagnostic imaging cases, including both referral and first-opinion cases. You will also play an important role in the practical training and supervision of veterinary students during their clinical rotations in diagnostic imaging.

Your main responsibilities

Clinical activity – Diagnostic Imaging

  • Manage complex diagnostic imaging cases using evidence-based approaches.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging examinations according to your level of expertise and experience.
  • Work closely with general practitioners and other specialists within the CHEV as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communicate with referring veterinarians and provide detailed feedback on imaging findings and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of clinical imaging protocols and standards of care.

Teaching and student supervision

  • Supervise veterinary students during their clinical rotations in diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide practical guidance and demonstrations on imaging techniques, diagnostic approaches and case management.
  • Lead clinical case discussions and encourage students to develop their clinical reasoning.
  • Assess students’ clinical skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Gradually encourage students to develop autonomy while ensuring appropriate supervision.

Research and professional development

  • Contribute to clinical research projects in collaboration with academic teams and other CHEV clinicians.
  • Participate in applied research and scientific activities related to veterinary medicine and diagnostic imaging.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of evidence-based veterinary medicine within the hospital.
  • Keep up to date with developments in veterinary diagnostic imaging and participate in continuing professional development.

Clinical and educational mission

  • Contribute to the smooth organisation and continuous improvement of clinical activities within the CHEV.
  • Take part in quality improvement initiatives and the development of clinical protocols.
  • Contribute to the educational mission of the Veterinary College and support students throughout their clinical training.

The facilities

You will work in a new 3,000 m² veterinary teaching hospital, designed to facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration and high-quality clinical teaching.

The diagnostic imaging facilities include:

  • 2 radiography rooms;
  • 2 ultrasound rooms;
  • CT scanner;
  • MRI;
  • dedicated imaging preparation room;
  • spacious image interpretation area.

The CHEV also includes specialised surgical facilities, an emergency and intensive care unit, physiotherapy, oncology, laboratory facilities and dedicated areas for exotic pets.

You will also benefit from dedicated teaching, meeting and collaborative spaces, including a 200m² educational simulation area.

Your profile

You hold a veterinary degree and are authorised to practise veterinary medicine in France.

You have significant clinical experience in diagnostic imaging, ideally acquired in a veterinary hospital, university or specialist environment.

An ECVDI diploma (European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging) is an advantage but is not required. We are also open to applications from experienced veterinarians who are not board-certified specialists but have developed strong expertise in diagnostic imaging and are keen to combine clinical practice with teaching.
