Veterinary Teleradiologist – U.S. Overnight & Weekend Coverage

We are seeking a board-certified veterinary radiologist (DACVR or DECVDI) to provide remote teleradiology coverage for U.S. overnight and weekend emergency and specialty caseloads. This independent contractor role is ideal for radiologists located in Europe or other international regions seeking daytime or evening working hours that align with overnight hospital coverage needs within U.S. time zones.
The radiologist will remotely interpret diagnostic imaging studies for emergency and specialty hospitals across multiple U.S. time zones, with emphasis on timely STAT interpretation, efficient workflow, and high-quality reporting.
This is a remote contract position only and is not structured as a U.S.-based employee role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Interpret and report diagnostic imaging studies remotely, including:
- Radiographs
- CT
- MRI
- Ultrasound studies (optional depending on practice structure)
- Provide coverage primarily for:
- U.S. overnight caseloads
- Weekend emergency coverage
- Holiday and after-hours support as needed
- Participate in quality assurance and peer review initiatives as requested
- Prioritize STAT and emergent studies appropriately to support emergency workflow and patient care
- Maintain concise, clinically actionable reports within expected turnaround times
- Respond to clinician questions or case discussions when contacted directly via email
- Collaborate professionally with hospital teams across multiple U.S. time zones
Qualifications
Required
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
- Completion of an ACVR or ECVDI-approved residency program
- Board-certified veterinary radiologist (DACVR or DECVDI)
- Strong written communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a remote environment
- Reliable high-speed internet and appropriate home workstation setup
Preferred
- Comfortable interpreting advanced imaging independently (CT/MRI)
- Prior teleradiology experience
- Experience with emergency and high-volume caseloads
- Familiarity with PACS and remote imaging platforms
Schedule Structure
This role is designed primarily for:
- U.S. overnight coverage
- Weekend coverage across U.S. time zones
- Europe-based daytime coverage corresponding to U.S. overnight hours
- Flexible PRN or scheduled contractor coverage
Coverage needs are greatest during:
- Holidays and high-volume emergency periods
- Overnight U.S. hours
- Weekends
