The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) at theUniversity of Calgary invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) or Associate Professor (Tenure) position in Veterinary Radiology.
Appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor will be made with the expectation of 20-30% of time devoted to research and the remainder of the assignment focused on clinical, didactic and laboratory teaching of undergraduate students and interns. UCVM employs a distributed veterinary teaching hospital. Applicants at the Assistant Professor rank must be able to demonstrate a strong publication record and evidence of successful undergraduate teaching. Applicants at the Associate Professor rank must provide evidence of a strong publication record, and evidence of successful teaching and graduate supervision.
Qualifications include a DVM (or equivalent) and advanced clinical training in veterinary radiology, with board certification or eligibility (ACVR or ECVDI). A graduate degree is considered an asset. The applicant must be licensed or eligible for immediate licensure in the Province of Alberta.
UCVM has approximately 70 faculty members, 130 staff, 125 DVM students, 110 graduate students, 25 post-doctoral fellows, and 15 advanced clinical trainees. UCVM’s DVM program provides a comprehensive general veterinary education to approximately 30-32 students per year (50 students per year as of September 2020). The program is an integrated core-elective program, with enhanced educational opportunities in defined areas that combine discipline-based courses with extensive on-campus and off-campus experiential learning. UCVM is a research-intensive faculty with expanding research, graduate education, and advanced clinical trainee programs.
