Large, multi-disciplinary, small animal referral hospital, UK.

We are offering a 1-year internship programme in small animal Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging with exposure to all imaging modalities, starting July 2024. The successful candidate will become a key member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, helping to coordinate and process cases through imaging efficiently, whilst working alongside a team of radiologists, anaesthetists, specialists from multiple disciplines, nurses, residents and rotating interns. Regular opportunities for structured learning are also provided including participation in imaging rounds, journal clubs and book clubs. This internship supports our residency programme, for which a successful intern would be strongly considered.

Our imaging facilities and equipment have undergone extensive improvement and modernisation over the past few years and now include: Siemens Magnetom Sempra 1.5T MRI, Siemens Somatom go.All 64-slice CT, Fujifilm computed radiography, Samsung RS80 Evo and RS85A US, Philips Zenition 50 C-Arm, and Fuji Synapse 7 PACS system. Out-of-hours cover is based on a shared rota with other clinicians assuring a healthy work-life balance.

Requirements for entry into the internship programme are as follows:

  • You must hold a veterinary degree approved by the European Association of Veterinary Education Establishments (EAVEE).
  • You must be, or be eligible to be, a member of the RCVS.
  • You should have a strong interest in small animal Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Completion of a 1-year rotating internship in a recognised small animal multi-disciplinary referral hospital is desirable; comparable post-graduate clinical experience in small animal veterinary practice will also be considered.
  • You must have good spoken and written English.
