DVS are offering a small animal track Diagnostic Imaging Residency, starting June 2022. The aim of our ECVDI-approved residency programme is to provide extensive training and support in diagnostic imaging to give the resident the required knowledge and skills to become a well-rounded board-certified radiologist. The programme also provides imaging rounds, journal clubs, book clubs and support with the individual research requirement. The successful candidate will join our growing team of two ECVDI-boarded radiologists, one board-eligible radiologist, two ECVDI residents, four radiographers, and two interns.
The Diagnostic Imaging team handle a large, varied and interesting caseload, whilst providing support to a team of over 30 specialists and 10 residents in anaesthesia, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy, and soft tissue surgery.
Our imaging facilities and equipment have undergone extensive improvement and modernisation over the past two years and now include: Siemens Magnetom Sempra 1.5T MRI, Siemens Somatom go.All 64-slice CT, Fujifilm computed radiography, Samsung RS80 Evo and RS85A US, GE Fluorostar and Siemens mobile C-Arms, and Fuji Synapse 7 PACS system.
Applicants must hold a veterinary degree approved by the European Association of Veterinary Education Establishments (EAVEE), be eligible to practice within the UK and have excellent spoken and written English. Completion of a 12-month rotating internship in a recognised small animal multi-disciplinary referral hospital, or a period of two years working in small animal first opinion practice is required. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, a good team player and have excellent communication skills.
