North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre was established in 2001 and is co-located with North Shore Veterinary Hospital. NSVH was started in 1935 and is the oldest veterinary hospital on the North Shore of Sydney. We are a 24/7, 365 day a year facility with specialists in surgery, emergency & critical care, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, dermatology, a bustling emergency department and a progressive general practice.

In this role you will be able to make your mark and lead the imaging service. Your role would encompass a full range of diagnostic imaging (sonography, digital radiology, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging) for outpatient and in-hospital patients.  The specialists work closely as a team as well as with referring veterinarians to deliver excellent patient care. 

Our hospital is state of the art, purpose-built facility that opened in 2019 after relocation from our previous site. We have a range of equipment, including:

  • Onsite 128 slice CT – GE Lightspeed
  • Onsite 1.5T MRI unit. (opened March 2022)
  • Ultrasonography – including GE Vivid S60 Cardiac unit
  • C-Arm Fluroscopy
  • 4 Theatres, 11 consulting rooms
  • Dedicated ICU unit
  • Medical ventilators
  • In-house laboratory
  • TEG machine

We are situated on Sydney's Lower North Shore, with excellent access to public transport and amenities. We are on the gateway to the beautiful Northern Beaches and Northern Suburbs of Sydney, where you will find excellent access to our door pursuits such as surfing, biking and walking. To be successful in this role, it is important that you are a recognised Diagnostic Imaging Specialist and have achieved Dipl ECVDI, Dipl ACVR, or FANZCVS qualification, such that it will be eligible for Specialist Registration with the Australian Veterinary Practitioners Board. We would also welcome enquiries from registrars who have completed their residency training and are in the process of sitting their appropriate Board examinations. Ideally the successful candidate would be interested in a full-time position however there is flexibility for this to be part-time role for the right candidate.

Remuneration is generous and is dependent on experience. Relocation assistance and/or Sponsorship for skilled migration will be considered for the successful candidate.
