Company Profile

VetCT was established in 2009 in Cambridge, UK. Our mission is to help all vets do their best and feel their best every single day.  We achieve this through supportive, educational teleconsulting and teleradiology and by developing and implementing novel educational strategies for veterinary medicine. Our services were developed with all parts of the veterinary ecosystem in mind: vet students, new graduates, interns, residents, primary care vets, advanced practitioners and specialists.

We look after vets all over the world and we help them care for their patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   Our team consists of more than 150 veterinary specialists covering all specialties and all species,  as well as a caring group of vets, vet technicians, vet nurses and vet radiographers.

VetCT was built on the principles of exceptional quality work and outstanding patient care. Our values are centred on kindness and empathy- we genuinely look after our team and we really do care about our veterinary clients and the animals that they look after.  As an organisation, we also strive to play our part in improving veterinary well-being and advancing clinical standards within the veterinary profession.

The Role

VetCT are excited to be able to advertise for a new role as ECVDI Resident Training Lead to work within the Education department.   Our support for residency programmes is long established and this initiative follows the success of our ACVR programme in North America. The aim for this specific role is to create more ECVDI residency programmes by:

● Injecting additional teaching, support and resources for residents thereby reducing pressure on the on-site residency supervisor

● Collaboration over reaching the credential requirements for publications

This new position will cover European ECVDI residency programmes hosted by institutions and clinics that partner with VetCT. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a high quality resident learning experience, to interact with colleagues and radiologists in training and to make a long term difference to our specialty as a whole.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Educational Services to develop an overarching training scheme suitable for European partners’ needs
  • Work alongside the equivalent teams in North America to build a global approach to our support whilst assuming responsibility for European programming
  • Ensure compliance with ECVDI bylaws and contribute to ECVDI residency programme applications
  • Liaise with on site ECVDI resident supervisors and program directors to understand programme specifics and create plans to augment on site learning for all partners
  • Oversee and arrange small and large group sessions suitable for ECVDI residents from partner institutions
  • Recruit, train, and support VetCT radiologists to contribute to this work as session leaders (eg. rounds, journal club), off site supervisors (eg. resident over reads) and other roles.

Skills/Competencies

  • Be highly motivated to support resident training and committed to building the best possible experience for our residents and partner institutions.
  • Prior experience in ECVDI resident training is ideal.
  • Prior experience in ECVDI leadership/ committee role is an asset.
  • Prior involvement in VetCT resident teaching is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary.
  • Proven ability to lead projects to completion.
  • Positive outlook on remote resident teaching and learning.
  • Willingness and adaptability to work with various programmes across Europe with differing approaches.
  • A reliable and committed approach is essential.
  • Ability to deliver on projects in a timely manner.
  • Calm, personable and friendly approach.
