Equine Diagnostic Imaging Internship at the RVC, UK

We invite applications for an Internship in Equine Diagnostic Imaging in the Department of Clinical Science and Services. The service is integrated into the large team of specialists within RVC Equine, located in our Hawkshead Campus, a 15-minute train ride from the centre of cosmopolitan London and near a number of international airports.

You will rotate through all modalities of large animal diagnostic imaging, radiology, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and scintigraphy. The time spend on each service will depend on requirements of the hospital. The section is equipped with a 0.27T MRI (Hallmarq), a CT (GE Ultralight 16 slice for standing horses and horses under GA), a gamma camera (MIE), high end ultrasound unit (GE Vivid E9), digital radiography (Fuji DR) with a high output generator (Siemens, Polydoros) and multiple portable x-ray units (SoundEklin). A an 1.5T MRI (Philips Intera) is available for imaging of the equine head in the associated Queen Mother Hospital for Small Animals.

A minimum of twelve months experience as a qualified veterinary surgeon is desirable.

You must be eligible for full Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). All applicants must be an MRCVS by the date the internship starts, and ideally by the date of application and interview. It is the applicant's responsibility to organise and pay for the annual membership fee.

You must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. If you are not exempt from proving your English language proficiency, you must take an IELTS (Academic) test (or equivalent).

Interviews will be held in January and February 2024 - exact dates to be confirmed.

The Internships will start on 10th June 2024.
