Faculty Position in Diagnostic Imaging
University of Zurich, Switzerland
We are inviting for applications for a faculty position at the Clinic for Diagnostic Imaging. We support our small and large animal clinics as well as the clinic for zoo animals, exotics and wildlife. Furthermore, the Clinic will provide the successful applicant with opportunities to participate in resident training and clinical and didactic instruction of veterinary students. A clinical or academic track may be discussed.
Team and facilities: We are one full professor, nine board certified radiologists, six residents, one senior researcher and eight technicians. We serve both the large and small animal clinics. Besides the CIS (clinical imaging services) the DIRU (diagnostic imaging research unit) is part of the Clinic for Diagnostic Imaging.
On-site imaging equipment includes: two small animal radiography units, one biplanar fluoroscopy (Philips Allura), one large animal radiography unit (Gierth), two helical CT units (Philips iQOn spectral, Qualibra system with 160 slice Canon Aquilion Exceed LB), five ultrasound machines (small animals: two GE Logiq e10, large animals: GE Logiq 8, GE Logiq 9), a 3T MRI unit (Philips Ingenia Elition), a Hallmarq standing equine MRI unit, nuclear scintigraphy (MIE Equine scanner H.R.) and a modern PACS-Server (Philips IntelliSpace).
The annual case load consists of about 15’000 small animals, 5’000 horses and about 1’600 ruminants.
The above mentioned DIRU is embedded in the Center for Applied Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine (CABMM.uzh.ch) and therefore provides a wide network in research comprising many opportunities to participate in projects or to start with new ideas.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree, be ACVR or ECVDI certified or eligible. Competence in general radiography, diagnostic ultrasound, MR and CT is required.
We seek an individual who is enthusiastic about resident, student training and teaching and who is looking for a unique opportunity to become an integral member of a strong radiology team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a prerequisite. Fluent communication in English is a requirement for this position. The willingness to learn German is for sure a positive asset.
Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience a salary package is calculated, which is in line with Swiss standards.
Application process: To receive fullest consideration, applications must be received by May 29th, 2023; the position remains open until filled. Interested applicants should submit a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation and contact information of three referees. Applications and inquiries may be submitted via e-mail.
