London Vet Specialists is starting a new chapter with a major expansion and relocation to a new state-of-the-art site in Hammersmith, West London. It’s a very exciting time to join us as we shape and create our boutique London multidisciplinary referral hospital which is due to open in Spring 2024. The hospital boasts an incredible location within a stone’s throw from the river Thames and nestled within the bustling and thriving Hammersmith & Fulham neighbourhood. The site is easily accessible by public transport from all areas of London and is also extremely well located for international travel links by air and train.

We are looking for a head of service to grow our diagnostic imaging team, which currently comprises of one RCVS recognized specialist.

We currently have specialists in multiple disciplines including soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, and diagnostic imaging and will be additionally incorporating neurology, oncology, orthopaedic surgery & emergency and critical care.

As part of the relocation, we are investing significantly in equipment and the new centre will have a brand new 1.5T Philips BlueSeal MRI scanner (this is a low-helium system so also fits our pledge to sustainability and the planet), Siemens 64-slice CT scanner, Samsung RS-85 ultrasound, C-arm fluoroscopy, digital radiography and Karl Storz new endoscopy and bronchoscopy systems to name just a few.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

London Vet Specialists (LVS) are currently recruiting for board certified specialist veterinarian in small animal diagnostic imaging to join our multi-disciplinary team of specialists.

You will be committed to developing the hospital and providing high standards of care to both our patients and referring veterinary surgeons. You must be able to work as a team as well as independently supporting our clients, patients and clinical teams in our busy practice. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require teamwork and dedication.

Key Roles Include:

  • As head of service, you will be a leader, providing high quality patient care and contributing to the future strategic growth of the service.
  • Provide clinical services as a diagnostic imaging consultant.
  • Work collaboratively with all other services and foster good relationships.
  • Undertake supervision of our discipline specific and rotating interns.
  • Demonstrate professional standards that will advance patient care.
  • Be an ambassador for the team.

You must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (or eligible to become a member).
  • Successful completion of a recognised an ECVDI or ACVDI residency programme.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication skills and professional approach.
  • Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.
