Who are we?

VetAgro Sup is a French higher education and research establishment under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, located on two campuses (the agronomic campus in Lempdes and the veterinary campus in Marcy l'Étoile). The institution trains veterinarians, agricultural engineers and veterinary public health inspectors. It combines agronomic and veterinary skills and develops its activity around themes such as animal health, public health, agriculture, agri-food, the environment and territorial development in accordance with its 2021-2025 establishment project.
It welcomes 1,200 students and awards 120 engineering degrees and 160 veterinary doctorates each year. The institution also conducts master's degree cycles and professional licenses in co-accreditation with the universities of Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon and Grenoble.

The institution is also accredited by the Commission des Titres d'Ingenieur (CTI) for its
engineering program and has received positive evaluations from the AEEEV and the
AVMA for the veterinary campus.

The teacher-researchers working at VetAgro Sup are strongly involved in training, research (11 own units or mixed research units), technological innovation and development support, dissemination of scientific and technical information, as well as in international relations.

VetAgro Sup is a member of the University of Lyon and the University of Clermont Auvergne & Associés, the CHEL[s] and the IAVFF-Agreenium. Within this framework, newly appointed teacher-researchers have access to various attractive schemes enabling them to be trained or to obtain the means to develop their training and research projects.

The candidate will be part of the Clinical Department of Companion Animals for Leisure and Sport. His/her teaching activity will be more particularly located on the veterinary campus with interventions throughout the Establishment.

What we expect from you?
The successful candidate will lead all medical imaging teaching activities in close collaboration with the teachers of the other disciplines of the Institution within the Clinical Department of Companion Animals, Leisure and Sport.

Theoretical teaching:

  • He (she) will be involved in the animation, expertise and strategic thinking of the teaching.
  • He/she will participate in initial and advanced training, medical imaging courses and related regulations in accordance with the discipline's pedagogical guidelines for each cycle.
  • In complementary training, this teacher will intervene in the theoretical training of interns and residents. He/she will oversee the development of European Veterinary Residency in Small animal Imaging (ECVDI-SA) programs and participate in continuing education in the discipline.

Practical and clinical teaching:

  • In the clinical field, this teacher will take charge of the clinical service in small animal imaging.
  • He/she will lead and organise the supervision and training of students, interns and residents in clinical activities.
  • He/she will participate in the organisation of consultations in conjunction with the other departments of the University Veterinary Hospital Centre, paying particular attention to the educational progress of students in the discipline.
  • He (she) will have to take into account the orientation given by the VetAgro Sup establishment project to be part of the "One Health" approach.

Who are you?

  • Hold a veterinary doctor's degree or an equivalent allowing them to practice veterinary medicine in France.
  • Hold either a diploma from the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) or an equivalent diploma from the American College of Veterinary Medicine (ACVR).
  • Have significant clinical experience in the required field; at least have nine years of professional experience other than teaching directly related to imaging within the last eleven years.
  • Have teaching skills and experience;
  • Demonstrate experience in scientific communication in national and international conferences. Have published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • A university thesis, an HDR or a first experience in research (scientific questioning, elaboration of a protocol, ethical rules of animal experimentation) will be considered as a plus.
  • Have a perfect command of the French language and sufficient command of the English language in relation to his/her field of activity.
  • Strong motivation to work in a team. Good experience in project management and in leading educational and scientific partnerships would be appreciated.
