AURA Veterinary is a centre for excellence in animal oncology , internal medicine, interventional oncology/radiology and soft tissue surgery. Our daily focus is on delivering the best possible outcomes for the dogs and cats who are referred to us for treatment. We offer extensive clinical expertise and exceptional animal care, rooted in a commitment to uphold the highest standards in veterinary science. The facilities at AURA are state of the art and include four operating theatres, 160 slice CT scanner, C-arm fluoroscopy unit, Interventional Radiology suite, minimally-invasive surgical equipment, cystoscopy/endoscopy/bronchoscopy, chemotherapy suite, ultrasonography, digital radiography and full in-house laboratory. Installation of a linear accelerator will commence in the coming months to offer our patients access to radiation therapy.

AURA Veterinary is looking for an ECVDI / ACVR Diplomate, or board eligible radiologist, to join and complement the existing team of Radiologists and Radiographers. Consideration would be given to candidates wanting a full-time (4 days/week) or part-time position.

The diagnostic imaging team collaborates with specialists in all other disciplines to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes. The hospital provides an interesting and varied caseload involving secondary and tertiary referral cases. AURA has the only dedicated Interventional Radiology/Oncology service in the UK which regularly performs advanced procedures such as embolisation, stenting and other ablation therapies (including the recent addition of microwave ablation).

The hospital has four large state-of-the-art theatres exposed to natural light, a large prep area, an ARIA 450 digital radiography machine, fluoroscopy suite, a Philips Epic Elite ultrasound machine and a 160 slice Toshiba Aquilion Prime CT scanner (with Medrad Stellant Dual CT Injector/Certegra Workstation).  All imaging modalities are linked to a PACS.

Regular exposure to interventional radiology and oncology techniques (embolisation / ablation therapies, NIFR imaging, sentinel lymph node mapping) is available if desired to the successful candidate.

AURA is a purpose-built referral hospital located on the Surrey Research Park, with excellent road and rail access into London, proximity to multiple airports and less than an hour away from the south coast. The location of the hospital and its proximity to the University of Surrey Veterinary School and Royal Surrey Hospital increases the research opportunities available for all staff.

Daily rounds and weekly cross disciplinary tumour boards provides excellent collaborative opportunities for all colleagues. ECVS/ECVIM Residents and rotating interns along with regular veterinary undergraduate student rotations provides ample teaching opportunities as desired.

There is no formal on-call requirement, but occasional telephone advice may be sought.
