Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists presents an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Radiologist to become a valuable member of our team. Our imaging team comprises two ECVDI radiologists, one ECVDI-residency trained radiologist, two ECVDI residents, one intern, and three radiographers. VetCT supports our residency program with scheduled journal clubs, case discussions, and lectures. There is an outstanding rapport and supportive network within the team, and we are eager to welcome the right individual who can contribute to enhancing our team even further. There is an exciting opportunity to play a role in the ongoing development of our residency programme.

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is situated within the New Forest National Park, offering convenient access to the picturesque south coast with its stunning beaches. The location is also near London city centre and various regional and international airports.

Our state-of-the-art hospital facility recently underwent a £7-million expansion, unveiling a new consultation building, a dedicated theatre building, and upgraded staff facilities in the fall of 2022. The imaging amenities boast cutting-edge equipment, including a 64-slice Siemens Somatom Perspective CT scanner with cardiac software, a 1.5T Hallmarq PetVet MRI, two Samsung RS80 ultrasound machines, Canon & Fuji Nano direct digital radiography, and Philips Pulsera & Hologic Insight C-arm fluoroscopy. The second phase of our expansion is scheduled to commence in spring/summer 2024, featuring a new Imaging, Medicine, and Neurology building, complete with a new 1.5T Siemens Altea MRI scanner.

Within a 5-minute drive, you'll reach Ringwood, a charming, well-preserved historic town featuring a blend of quaint and contemporary shops, street entertainment, restaurants, pubs, and cafes. If coastal living is more to your liking, the bustling towns of Bournemouth and Christchurch are just a 15-minute drive from the hospital. Additionally, the unspoiled beauty of the Jurassic Coast awaits you, accessible within a 45-minute drive, providing an exceptional backdrop for hiking, running, and rock-climbing enthusiasts!

A Working Pattern to Suit You

We are open to discussing either full-time (40 hours, 4 days per week) or part-time hours. The on-call duties are 1 in 4 for the full-time position, with pro-rata for part-time duties.

What We’re Looking For

We require an ECVDI or ACVR boarded or board-eligible Radiologist to join the team. The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and must be MRCVS or hold a veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS.
