ADVETIA Veterinary Hospital offers a 3 years residency program with a position starting September 2021.
ADVETIA is a 2000m2 veterinary referral hospital with a fast growing caseload since its opening in April 2018, located at a 30 minutes distance by train and 20 minutes by car from the south-western part of Paris.
The team of the Imaging Department is composed of three ECVDI board-certified radiologists and two ECVDI-residents.
ADVETIA Veterinary Hospital is fully equipped with :
- A CT-scanner 16 slices GE Healthcare Revolution ACT
- A 1.5 Tesla MRI GE Healthcare Signa Explorer
- A DR system, 43x43, 30 kW
- A dental X-ray unit X-Mind Unity – Satelec de Gotzen
- A fluoroscopic device GE Stenoscope OEC 9000
- An ultrasound machine GE Logic E10 with 4 abdominal probes (1 micro-convexe, 1 convexe, 2 linear high-frequency)
- An ultrasound machine Toshiba Aplio 400 equiped with 6 probes (3 abdominal, 3 phased-array)
- An ultrasound machine GE Healthcare Vivid E90 equiped with 3 phased-array probes
- An ultrasound machine Philips CX30 equiped with 3 probes
Imaging cases are provided by the emergency service working 24/7 as well as indoor specialized consultations in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Exotic mammals and birds medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, Dermatology, all headed by European board certified specialists.
The excellent relationship between the different teams allows a very interesting and collaborative activity. The annual imaging caseload currently represents 9000 exams (40% X-rays, 20% non-cardiac US, 10% cardiac US, 20% CT, 10% MRI).
The very active exotic department offers the opportunity of multiple domestic exotics studies. A long term collaboration with Beauval ZooParc provides a unique opportunity to review X-Rays, CT and MRI in wildelife animals.
A wide choice of veterinary books is available on site, including the main reference books in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
All the imaging studies performed during the past 10 years are stored in a PACS and available for review. A computerized database of more than 8500 interesting imaging cases covering all encountered species and all modalities is also available.
The candidate shall be graduated from a veterinary school that has been approved by the European Association of Veterinary Education Establishments (EAVEE), be eligible to be registered/licensed to practice veterinary medicine and surgery in France, have completed a minimum of one year in a recognized general clinical training program (internship) or satisfactory veterinary practice equivalent of a minimum of two years, and a full time practice of diagnostic imaging for at least one completed year.
A good knowledge of French and English (spoken and written) is highly recommended.
