Residency in Small Animal Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Bristol Veterinary Specialists, Bristol, UK

Bristol Veterinary Specialists (BVS) are proud to offer a diagnostic imaging residency leading towards the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) Diploma (small animal track). This will be a four-year position intended to commence in March 2024, with the aim of sitting the final practical exam in 2028.

This opportunity provides hands-on training in diagnostic imaging, covering radiography, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Under the guidance of four board-certified radiologists and three skilled radiographers, candidates will gain practical experience in our brand-new small animal hospital and will be expected to participate in the out-of-hours imaging rota. This programme emphasises learning through participation in supervised clinical rounds, journal clubs, interdisciplinary case discussions, interventional procedures and collaborative research.

Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and an open-minded, proactive approach to learning are all highly valued personal qualities. Eligible candidates must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and must have undertaken a rotating internship or a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Evidence of dedication to the field of diagnostic imaging (e.g. studying towards an imaging certificate, clinical research, imaging-specific CPD) will be looked upon favourably. Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
