We are seeking a veterinarian who has performed an internship for at least one year in a companion animal track or who has two years of clinical experience in a companion animal practice with good references (prerequisites of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, ECVDI).
As the successful candidate you will be offered a position at the Division of Diagnostic Imaging of the University Clinic. Yearly approximately 9,000 imaging procedures are performed (radiography, ultrasonography, CT, MRI, scintigraphy/SPECT) on companion animals and horses. You will be involved in the diagnostic imaging work-up of clinical cases providing a high quality service to clients and referring veterinarians. Since you will be trained at an academic medical centre, you will also be involved in training and teaching veterinary students. Therefore, experience in student education is an advantage. You are aware that academic development is part of the job; you have to do research in order to be able to write two publications.
You will be trained to a level at which you will meet all the requirements for credentials in order to take the certifying examination of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. Training will also involve participation in night and weekend duties. After completion of the programme a retention period will run for three years. After finishing the residency track you will take the ECVDI exams.
Qualifications
You are a highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills who has shown an interest in veterinary diagnostic imaging. Besides, you have a good knowledge of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
Offer
We offer a temporary position (1.0 FTE), initially for one year, followed by a go/no go evaluation. If you perform well in the first year, the contract will be extended with two years. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranges between €2,836 and €4,474 (scale 10 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year. Je wordt opgeleid tot Specialist Diagnostische Beeldvorming waarbij je, met een toenemende zelfstandigheid gaat bijdragen aan:
- de patiëntenzorg van gezelschapsdieren en paarden;
- het onderwijs aan studenten;
- het onderzoek van de discipline Diagnostische Beeldvorming.
Na een inwerkperiode participeer je ook in het avond- en weekenddienstenrooster van de discipline.
Profiel
Wij vragen een dierenarts met ten minste één jaar ervaring in de geneeskunde van gezelschapsdieren in een specialistische kliniek ('internship'), dan wel een dierenarts die ten minste twee jaar werkzaam is geweest in een goed geoutilleerde gezelschapsdierenpraktijk met goede referenties.
Je hebt een sterke motivatie en aantoonbare affiniteit met de veterinaire diagnostische beeldvorming. De opleiding zal naast het praktische werk ook wetenschappelijke vorming inhouden met als doel het publiceren van een tweetal publicaties. Je gaat bijdragen aan het onderwijs voor de diergeneeskundige studenten. Ervaring is een pré. Bij de discipline Diagnostische Beeldvorming staan kwaliteit, klantvriendelijkheid en efficiency voorop en de succesvolle kandidaat onderschrijft deze doelstellingen enthousiast. Verder ben je in staat om in teamverband te werken en beschik je over goede communicatieve vaardigheden. Je beheerst de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift. Na/tijdens het volgen van de opleiding doe je het examen van het ECVDI (European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging).
Aanbod
Wij bieden een dienstverband (1,0 fte) voor de duur van een jaar. Bij goed functioneren hoort verlenging tot de mogelijkheden. Het salaris bedraagt - afhankelijk van opleiding en ervaring - minimaal € 2.836,- en maximaal € 4.474,- (schaal 10 van de cao Nederlandse Universiteiten) bruto per maand bij een fulltime dienstverband. Je ontvangt daarnaast 8% vakantiegeld en een eindejaarsuitkering van 8,3%. Je gaat werken bij de discipline Diagnostische Beeldvorming, waarbij je deel zal uitmaken van een team van specialisten veterinaire diagnostische beeldvorming (Dipl. ECVDI), specialisten in opleiding, laboranten en dierverzorgers. De discipline Diagnostische Beeldvorming van het Departement Clinical Sciences verricht per jaar vele beeldvormende diagnostische onderzoeken (conventionele röntgendiagnostiek, echografie, CT, MRI, scintigrafie/SPECT) bij gezelschapsdieren en paarden.
