Small Animal and Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging Residency, University of Liege, Belgium
The Diagnostic Imaging Section of the Clinique Vétérinaire Universitaire of the University of Liege (Belgium) is opening 2 positions for a 3-year ECVDI residency (1 Small Animal Track and 1 Large Animal Track), starting October 1, 2021.
Pre-requirements are the completion of a one-year rotating internship or an equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of spoken French is required in order to interact with students (or an intensive language course should be followed). A good English knowledge is required.
The team is composed of 4 ECVDI diplomates, 1 senior clinician, 5 residents (when positions will be filled in - 3 small animal and 2 large animal), a diagnostic imaging intern (SA) and 3 technicians.
The Diagnostic Imaging Section is equipped with DR, ultrasound, CT scan (64 slices), 1.5 T MRI and a Standing Equine MRI unit (Hallmarq).
The resident participates in everyday clinical activity (mainly in her/his track but also in the other track) and has regular (1/3-4 weeks) on-call rotations for night and week-end duties (in small and large animal).
She/he will be actively involved in clinical teaching to the students of the 2 last clinical years.
The candidate should have enough self-awareness and good interpersonal skills, be a strong teamplayer and sound communicator. She/he should be willing to accept feedback and make adjustments when needed, wish to operate in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment, have the ability to cope with change and accept responsibilities.
The candidate may continue in a PhD program after the residency.
