Nr. Potters Bar, Hertfordshire
Competitive Salary

We invite applications for a Part-time Staff Clinician/Lecturer in Equine Diagnostic Imaging in the Department of Clinical Science and Services. The service is integrated into the large team of specialists within RVC Equine, located in our Hawkshead Campus, a 15-minute train ride from the centre of cosmopolitan London and near a number of international airports.

The position will appeal to those that enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive team environment that offers flexibility and family-friendly working patterns. We welcome newly trained specialists looking for a large collegiate team to further consolidate their skills, as well as more established specialists that thrive in teaching and want a better work-life blend. You will be expected to take an active role in the clinical activities of the section, providing the highest standards of clinical care. In addition, participation in undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching supervision and mentoring is expected.

The section is equipped with a 0.27T MRI (Hallmarq), a CT (GE Ultralight 16 slice for standing horses and horses under GA), a gamma camera (MIE), high end ultrasound unit (GE Vivid E9), digital radiography (Fuji DR, SoundEklin) with a high output generator (Siemens, Polydoros) and multiple portable x-ray units. The installation of a Qalibra Exceed CT system will soon complement our imaging modalities and our 1.5T MRI (Philips Intera) will become available again for imaging of the equine head in the associated Queen Mother Hospital for Small Animals in the future.

We are looking for candidates with a RCVS registrable degree in veterinary science, who hold or are eligible to sit the examination for a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. Flexible or part time working requests will be considered.

Potential applicants wishing to discuss this position informally are encouraged to contact Prof. Daniel Chan (Head of Department) email: dchan@rvc.ac.uk, Prof. Bettina Dunkel (Head of RVC Equine) email: bdunkel@rvc.ac.uk or Dr. Dagmar Berner: email dberner@rvc.ac.uk (Senior Lecturer in Equine diagnostic Imaging).
