Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Are you looking for a career in academia that fits your goals?  The Veterinary Clinical Sciences department in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University (ISU) has the job for you!  Located in Ames, Iowa, ISU invites applications for a part/full time, clinical-track or tenure-track faculty position in the Radiology section of the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC).  The qualifications, documented experience, and interests of the selected candidate will determine appointment rank.

The remaining effort may include development of a creative program of scholarship, didactic and laboratory teaching, academic service, and outreach activities. Required Minimum Qualifications:

-DVM or equivalent degree.

-Must have successfully completed an approved residency training program by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) and be eligible to participate in the Board Examination process.  

- State of Iowa Veterinary License on or before the first day of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- An advanced degree (MS, PhD or equivalent).
- Experience in both small and large animal radiology/diagnostic imaging.
- Expertise in advanced imaging; such as magnetic resonance imaging.

- Board Certified by ACVR or ECVDI
- A record of or notable potential for scholarship through both manuscript publication/preparationand preparation/success in granting activity and national scholarly, clinical, or educational presentations.

Department/Program & College Description:

The successful candidate will join the LVMC clinical radiology/diagnostic imaging service which currently includes one tenured ACVR faculty and six radiology support staff.

Imaging equipment includes two small animal DR rooms (Eklin Canon 50G plate), an IR suite with Philips Multi-diagnost Eleva stationary C-arm fluoroscopy, a 1000mAs overhead tube plus Sound NEXT DR for large animal imaging, Toshiba 16-slice LB Acquilion CT scanner, Philips EPIQ ultrasound unit, Enhanced Technologies Gamma Camera with new Oasis Acquisition and Processing software upgrade, a GE 1.5T Signa magnet with complete Explorer 25.1 software and RF coil upgrade, and Fuji Synapse PACS system.

The LVMC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide specialized care and comprehensive medical and surgical services for companion and large animals throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our clinicians, residents, interns, technicians, staff, and senior veterinary students work collaboratively to provide 24-hour, high-quality care to animal patients.
