The Role

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Radiologist to join their team.

We offer a four-day working week (full-time), six weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, an excellent salary package with a generous employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, generous illness pay, income protection cover, as well as professional and association fees paid.

The practice actively encourages both the giving and receiving of CPD to further the education of their employees, with an annual allowance of up to £5000 and 10 days.

We are open to discussing either full-time (40 hours, 4 days per week) or part-time hours.

The on-call duties are 1 in 4 for the full-time position, with pro-rata for part-time duties.

About Us

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is located in the New Forest National Park, within commuting distance to the beautiful south coast and its fabulous beaches, as well as being close to London city centre and regional and international airports.

A 5-minute drive brings you to Ringwood, a delightful, unspoiled historic town with both quaint and modern shops, street entertainment, restaurants, pubs and cafes.

If you prefer the seaside life, the popular towns of Bournemouth and Christchurch are 15 minutes drive from the hospital. The Unspoiled Jurassic Coast is 45 minutes drive, with superb surroundings for hiking, running and rock-climbing enthusiasts!

Our hospital facility has recently enjoyed a £7-million expansion, consisting of a new consult building, a theatre building and staff facilities, which opened in autumn 2022. Imaging facilities include a 64-slice Siemens Somatom Perspective CT scanner with cardiac software, 1.5T Hallmarq PetVet MRI, two Samsung RS80 ultrasound machines, Canon & Fuji Nano direct digital radiography, and Philips Pulsera & Hologic Insight C-arm fluoroscopy.

With 27 Specialists, 3 Residency-Trained Clinicians, 16 Residents and over 70 Nurses, you will be joining a large multidisciplinary specialist team working to the highest standards.

About the Team and Culture

The team consists of two ECVDI Radiologists, two ECVDI Residents, one Imaging Intern and three Radiographers.Our residency programme is supported by VetCT with scheduled journal clubs, case discussions and lectures.

There is an excellent rapport and supportive network within the team, and we would welcome the right person to add to this even further, with the exciting prospect of helping to further develop our residency programme.

Applicant Requirements

We require an ECVDI or ACVR boarded or board-eligible Radiologist to join the team. The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and must be MRCVS or hold a veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS. Full-time or part-time applicants will be considered.
